Pangia Compendium – Addendum 4 is a free role playing game supplement published by Adventures in Filbar. As with the previous three Addendums (see 1, 2 and 3), it is intended for use with Pangia, the third continent of the Filbar setting and designed to complement the Pangia Compendium. The supplement is, in theory, intended for use with the Dungeons & Dragons game.
This is a sixteen page PDF which lacks bookmarks, with one page being the front cover. As with the three previous Addendums, this is a collection of pieces of fluff.
Calodontic’s Mace is the story of a magical mace that was given to a cleric so that he could defend his parishioners from bugbears.
Fissure Monster describes a camouflaged creature that lurks in the fissures of a cliff and preys on those passing.
Marquesa Bondelli tells the story of a marquesa who, following the death of her father, conducted trial by combat to get out of a marriage arranged by her father to a less than wonderful husband.
Mouck and the Three Stones is the story of how a conman managed to dupe a black dragon into no longer asking for tribute from a village.
Tunnel of Light describes how a portal regularly opened up and, on one occasion, a strange craft appeared, one with by the sounds of it advanced weaponry.
Velchana – ‘The Silent One’ is the story of how a young girl eventually avenged herself on the barbarian tribe that killed her father and her entire village.
The PDF lacks bookmarks, which would have been appreciated but are not that necessary. The text maintains a single column format and a few minor errors were noted.
There are a number of illustrations, which would appear to be either stock or public domain, and each snippet has a coat of arms at the beginning, which appears as if it was created in Coat of Arms Design Studio from Inkwell Ideas.
Although this was stated at the beginning as being theoretically designed for Dungeons & Dragons, only the mace has any game stats at all. It is therefore as easy to use it for any other game system as D&D.
This Addendum has fewer pieces in it than the previous ones, but the individual pieces are of greater length. Once again, this is a lovely collection of nice fluff pieces that do not have to be used with the Pangia setting but can be adapted to others. There are only a couple of mentions of proper names that would definitely need changing; most could easily be used as-is.
Pangia Compendium – Addendum 4 is yet another nice collection of fluff in this series and it can be downloaded for free by clicking here.
