A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Wilderness Feature – Wizard Tower

Wilderness Feature – Wizard Tower by Chris Kentlea is a generic role playing game supplement published by Ennead Games.

The supplement is available as a 20-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1.99 but was purchased at a reduced price during a sale. One page is the front cover, one is ads and one the Contents. The PDF comes in two versions, one of which is a black and white printer-friendly version.

Wilderness Feature - Wizard TowerWilderness Feature Wizard Tower explains that this supplement can be used to make a tower for any wizard or other spellcaster.

How to use explains this generator can be used in one of two ways; either pick the appropriate tables needed to fill the gaps in a description or use all to make a detailed description. In addition, results can be picked manually or altered to customise the description.

Aspects gives descriptions of each of the 20 different tables that can be rolled on in the supplement, explaining how they are used.

The rest of the supplement is taken up by the d20 tables. These are Condition, Decor, Design, Entrance, Event, Feature, Guardian, Inhabitants, Laboratory, Library, Location, Obstacle, Personality, Purpose, Size, Shape, Style, Trap, Name – Adj and Name – Noun.

The PDF is bookmarked with the different sections linked. The Contents is to the same level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is good. The text is single column for the actual text and dual column for the tables and appeared to be free of errors. Bar the cover, there are no illustrations. Presentation is okay.

This supplement is what it sets out to be; a collection of tables that can be used to describe some or all of a wizard’s tower. Or, for that matter, elements could certainly be used to describe other locations than towers, making it more versatile. Most of the tables are comparatively brief, with at most a sentence and sometimes only one or two words. Once everything has been rolled, some more work will be needed to flesh out the results. Wilderness Feature – Wizard Tower is a decent little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
