Weekly Wonders - Giant Treasures

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Weekly Wonders – Giant Treasures

Weekly Wonders – Giant Treasures by Alex Riggs and Joshua Zaback is a role playing game supplement published by Necromancers of the Northwest for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

This is a 7-page PDF that is available from DriveThruRPG for $1.49 but was purchased at a greatly reduced price as part of a special bundle. Two pages are the front and rear covers, one page is the front matter and one the Open Game License.

Weekly Wonders - Giant TreasuresThe introductory paragraph states that giants are known for their treasures and, whilst the most powerful items might be found in the possession of cloud and storm giants, even hill giants can have unusual items in their bags.

Next are the magic items themselves, 18 in all. There are beans that restore health, boots that allow clouds to be walked on, weapons made for giants, sandals that increase the size of the wearer so that they are a giant, a golden goose that lays golden eggs, rocks and stones for throwing, rings that can help catch thrown rocks and more.

Weekly Wonders – Giant Treasures in Review

The PDF is well bookmarked for a short supplement, with every magic item linked. Navigation is excellent. The PDF maintains a two-column colour format and appeared to be free of error. There are a couple of black and white stock illustrations. Presentation is okay.

The items come in a wide range of values, from a mere 100 gp up to 200,000 gp. There are permanent items and one-shots, items for giants to help them kill, or interact in a more friendly way, with smaller creatures, and some intended to help smaller races against giants. There is even a mask made by ogres, when they were more civilised creatures. Weekly Wonders – Giant Treasures is an extensive collection of giant-themed items and it can be found by clicking here.
