Gregorius21778: The Lich of Föhrenöd

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Gregorius21778: The Lich of Föhrenöd

Gregorius21778: The Lich of Föhrenöd is a role playing game supplement written and published by Kai Pütz a.k.a Gregorius21778 for use with MÖRK BORG.

The supplement is available as a 27-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $2 but was purchased at a reduced price during a sale. One page is the front cover and one the front matter.

Gregorius21778: The Lich of FöhrenödThe opening paragraphs give some background information. The last ruler of the fief of Föhrenöd died before his wife, Lady Neszeka, and she took over rulership. The lady was a believer in the ways before those of the Two-Headed Basilisk and built crypts under the castle in order to reach elsewhere. Following stories of a ghastly woman raiding villages for children and others and the death of workers on the crypts led to Lady Neszeka being bricked up inside by her own guards. However, the ghastly lady still appears.

Why Should The PC Even Care? has four adventure hooks for getting the characters involved.

Getting there has four encounters along the way to the fief.

Norstöd & Vestöd gives an overview of the villages, some rumours to hear and a witch to encounter.

The Ruins of Castle Föhrenöd gives a brief overview of the ruins, then much of the rest of the supplement describes the various parts of the crypt.

Appendix has two d20 tables of things to find in sarcophagi, stats for some new monsters and two new magic items.

Gregorius21778: The Lich of Föhrenöd in Review

The PDF is bookmarked with major and minor sections linked. Navigation is decent. The text maintains a single column format and some minor errors were noticed. It also follows a more unusual layout style, in keeping with MÖRK BORG; fortunately, unlike the core rulebook, this doesn’t impact readability. There are a number of black and white stock images. Presentation is decent.

This is essentially a dungeon crawl with some supplementary material around it. It’s quite a decent small dungeon, with a fair amount of content to it, as well as the various new monsters at the back. It can be deadly, but that’s appropriate for MÖRK BORG. Gregorius21778: The Lich of Föhrenöd is a decent little supplement that’s good value for money and it can be found by clicking here.
