Cursed Stone Circle - Location

Free Role Playing Game Supplement Review: Cursed Stone Circle – Location

Cursed Stone Circle – Location is a free role playing game supplement written by Andrea Brambilla, Alessio Vaglio and Luca Andreolli and published by Aenarion’s Coven for use with Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

Cursed Stone Circle - LocationThe supplement is available for free as a three-page PDF from DriveThruRPG. One page is the Credits and Open Game License. There is also a jpg map of the stone circle.

Overview gives some details on the stone circle, how plants don’t grow inside it and those outside are warped spirals and animals avoid the place but their shadows detach and wander around it.

The Story gives the history of the circle and how a Fey Prince sleeps beneath it.

Location Effect has the effects that occur within the circle itself. A sidebar has a warning verse about the circle.

The final page of content has a colour map and image of the circle.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and is short enough that these aren’t needed. Navigation is good. The text maintains a two-column format and some awkwardness of wording was noticed. There are a colour illustration of the circle and a colour map. Presentation is good.

This provides a single, briefly detailed location that could easily be dropped into many settings. Though there are no specific adventure hooks, it should be possible for the GM to come up with some ideas, unless the circle is just going to be an oddity.
