Urban Locale #16: Bowyer/Fletcher’s Workshop by Robert Manson is a generic role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press.
The supplement is available as a 7-page PDF for $1.75 from DriveThruRPG but was purchased at a reduced price thanks to a special offer. The supplement comes in two versions, a plaintext file and a PDF. Two pages are the front and rear covers, two pages are ads and about half a page is the front matter and Contents.
Using this Urban Locale is a standard piece explaining how to use the lists and what each list covers. This is followed by a brief sentence on bowyers and fletchers, then the d10 lists.
1: The Bowyer/Fletcher’s Workshop has ten named and briefly described shops, together with the owner’s name, alignment, species, sex and, if relevant, age.
2: Major Locale Features covers the more major features, from design to other features.
3: Minor Locale Features is similar but covers smaller things.
4: What’s Going On? has then things that could be happening.
5: Other Folk has NPCs to encounter, with their names, why they might be there, alignment, sex and species.
6: What’s For Sale? has ten non-magical items for sale, only really of interest to low-level characters.
Urban Locale #16: Bowyer/Fletcher’s Workshop in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with the various sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is good. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There is a single black and white illustration. Presentation is okay.
Though this kind of shop may be of importance in a fantasy setting, it’s less likely such will be important to characters who aren’t low level; few are likely to be going shopping for ordinary bows, arrows and associated equipment.
