Urban Locale #10: Weaponsmith by Robert Manson is a generic role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press.
The supplement is available as a 7-page PDF for $1.75 from DriveThruRPG but was purchased at a reduced price thanks to a special offer. The supplement comes in two versions, a plaintext file and a PDF. Two pages are the front and rear covers, two pages are ads and about half a page is the front matter and Contents.
Using this Urban Locale is a standard piece explaining how to use the lists and what each list covers. This is followed by a brief paragraph on weaponsmiths, then the d10 lists.
1: The Weaponsmith has ten named weaponsmiths, being the actual shop, a brief description and the owner named with alignment, sex, species and age if relevant.
2: Major Locale Features has the more important features for the weaponsmith.
3: Minor Locale Features has more minor pieces of dressing for the location.
4: What’s Going On? has ten things to happen.
5: Other Folk has ten NPCs to encounter, each given a name, alignment, age if relevant, sex and species along with a brief description.
6: What’s For Sale has ten things for sale, with prices and descriptions, all but one of them weapons. None of these are magical.
Urban Locale #10: Weaponsmith in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with the various sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is good. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are no illustrations. Presentation is adequate.
Like others in this series, this is a collection of tables that would be useful for describing weaponsmiths that low-level characters might visit; given there are no magic weapons, higher-level ones are unlikely to find much of interest, especially as there are no services described that might have been useful, such as custom making. Urban Locale #10: Weaponsmith is a decent enough supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
