Shrine Of The Black Market Brotherhood by Edward E. Sutton is a role playing game supplement published by FEI Games inc. for use with OSR B/X. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result. This is an adventure for 3-6 characters of levels 4-7.
The supplement is available as an eight page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers and one the Open Game License.
GM Note: explains that boxed text is presented assuming that the inhabitants are unaware of intrusion and should be adjusted when this changes.
A Typical Tavern Intro is just boxed text and has the innkeeper suggesting that the characters take a look at the old watchtower on the moors.
Following this, the various locations in the complex under the watchtower are covered. The watchtower itself, and any area around it, are not described; the first area described is steps going down to the entrance. The dungeon itself is small and occupied primarily by bandits, though there are other threats too.
The final page of content is a map of the dungeon.
Shrine Of The Black Market Brotherhood in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with the various sections linked. Navigation is good. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are some primarily black and white illustrations. Presentation is decent.
This is a simple, small dungeon, with no real development of anything outside the dungeon itself. As such, it’s easy enough to drop down just about anywhere suitable; it doesn’t necessarily have to be on the moors as described. A GM could add a few details to flesh it out more and integrate it with a setting, but at heart it’s a straightforward dungeon crawl.
