Scratch Builder Monthly December 2022 is a supplement written and published by MJ Hobby Corner for use with making cheap models, primarily for tabletop wargaming.
The supplement is available as a 73-page PDF from Wargame Vault for $3. One page is the front cover, one is credits and one is ads.
The Introduction is the same as it has been for the previous issues and explains that this is a new publication will build on videos for projects. The following page has a list of what’s in the supplement and links.
The Sculptor’s Work Bench looks at sculpting for gaming, in this case it looks at Super Sculpey Bakeable Glue and greenstuff.
Introducing the Spriggan, a Tree Folk Army for Gaming explains that these were made with fuzzy sticks, why spriggan were chosen as well as depictions in folklore and the different units needed.
Making A Spriggan Warrior has the process of making one, starting with materials and tools needed, then the step-by-step process and finally adding decorations to it.
A Variety of Spriggan Units has photos and details of different units, together with Dragon Rampart stats for two of the units.
Painting Notes For Spriggan has some notes on this and cheap paints used.
Alternate History Gaming Build A Steam Tank has a plan for building a tank based on the British WWI Mk. 2, materials list and step by step instructions.
More Realistic Sponsoons and Hull Shape has an optional replacement for the sponson section from the previous build with a more realistic design, including a swivel, and some notes on painting the tank.

Scratch Builder Monthly December 2022 in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and is long enough with enough different sections that these would be useful. Navigation could be better. The text maintains a single column format and some minor errors were noticed. There are a variety of colour photos of photos, stages, materials and tools. Presentation is decent.
A number of projects are mentioned in this, but only the tank and the spriggan warrior have full instructions. Though the tank has been modified slightly to make it a steam-powered one, the design can be easily used to make a more historical one, or adapted to create a futuristic one for such as Warhammer 40K. The spriggan warrior may be the only fully detailed spriggan, but adapting the instructions to other designs of spriggan shouldn’t be too difficult.
