Yin Yang Panda – Water Strider Tribes by Łukasz Kołodziej is a free role playing game supplement published by Skavenloft. This is a supplement for Yin Yang Panda, which is based on Lasers & Feelings and is covered by the CC BY 4.0 license.

The supplement is available as a 14-page PDF for free from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers, one page is the front matter and one the Table of Contents.

Yin Yang Panda - Water Strider TribesThe Introduction explains that this is a splatbook containing details on the Water Strider Tribes who live in an archipelago bordering the Dragonfly Empire.

How to Use This is a standard piece of text that explains you need this, the core book and the usual playing materials.

We Have Guests! has six elements to add a touch of the Water Strider Tribes to the Dragonfly Empire.

We Are Guests! has six elements to add a touch of the Dragonfly Empire to the Water Strider Tribes.

The Water Strider Tribes explains that the area isn’t conducive to agriculture and the Tribes live of sea, trade and piracy. The Dragonfly Empire and Spider Kingdoms have struggled with this piracy.

Landscape gives details on the archipelagos.

Culture explains that the Dragonfly Empire, Spider Kingdoms and overseas powers have attempted to conquer the Tribes but they always regain their independence; this has resulted in many different cultural elements from different traditions.

Martial Arts explains that there are dozens of arts and hundreds of schools but most have some common points.

Playing Aids has d12 tables of names and surnames, d6 tables of places to visit, folks to meet and folks to avoid, d12 treats to try and d6 weapons to master.

Finally, there are five new martial arts described using the standard format, bat, crab, monitor lizards, pufferfish and seagull.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and though short these would have been appreciated. The Table of Contents covers the major sections. Navigation could be better. The text maintains a single column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are a couple of illustrations, black and white and colour. Presentation is okay.

This is another standard splatbook for the game, covering a new part of the world and with new elements and character options to add. It’s another useful little supplement for the lightweight game, adding new details and options. Yin Yang Panda – Water Strider Tribes can be downloaded for free by clicking here.
