Temple of the Moon Priests

Free Role Playing Game Supplement Review: Temple of the Moon Priests

Temple of the Moon Priests by Will Doyle and Stacey Allan is a role playing game supplement published by Gildor Games for use with Elemental. It is a winner of the One Page Dungeon Contest that has been expanded with stats and PCs.

The supplement is available for free from DriveThruRPG. It consists of two PDFs.

Temple of the Moon PriestsThe first PDF has five pages. The first page is the original One Page Dungeon entry and consists of a coloured map of the temple with various boxes explaining what’s in the locations. The second page is the same map, but without the labels. The third page is a black and white printer friendly version of the labelled map. The final two pages have stats for the various encounters, including NPCs, monsters, items and traps.

The second PDF has 13 pages and this has pregenerated characters that can be used. The first page has portraits of the six characters and the remainder cover each over two pages. These are the character sheet, which includes stats, skills, powers, flaws, background, notes and other characters.

Temple of the Moon Priests in Review

The main PDF isn’t bookmarked and doesn’t need it. The PC PDF is bookmarked, with the characters linked. Presentation is good. The text varies a lot in layout, from single column on character sheets to labels on a map to two columns for NPC and game details and appeared to be free of error. The primary illustration is the colour map, which is excellent, and the remainder are portraits. Presentation is excellent.

This is, given that it’s an entry into the One Page Dungeon contest, a short adventure. The extras included make it usable with Elemental, but they could be translated to other systems, some more easily than others, as Elemental is a d6 based system. This is a nice little adventure, especially as it’s free, and the map is very high quality. Temple of the Moon Priests can be downloaded for free by clicking here.
