Wasteland Gangs: The Termites

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Wasteland Gangs: The Termites

Wasteland Gangs: The Termites by David L. Woodrum Jr. is a generic role playing game supplement published by Fishwife Games.

The supplement is available as a 16-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $2.50 but was purchased at a reduced price during a sale. One page is the front cover.

Wasteland Gangs: The TermitesThe Termites explains that this is a gang of urban survivors that are generally considered to be underdogs. They’ve managed to hold their turf, but their numbers are in decline. It gives some brief history related to the new leader, Pigeon, then explains that this gang is intended to be an underdog gang in the post-apocalyptic ruins of a large city. They control a few blocks and have a primary hideout in the area, though what this is is up to the GM.

Gang Members details the members of the gang, unsurprisingly. It’s not stated if this is the entire gang, though it could be. Each follows the same general format; name, role, appearance, personality, weapons, attire, notable gear, if any, pets, if any, and vehicle, if any. Nineteen gang members are described in this way, some in more detail than others.

Wasteland Gangs: The Termites in Review

The PDF lacks bookmarks and has enough different sections, despite the comparatively short length, that these would have been useful. Navigation could be better. The text is either single column or two column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are no illustrations. Presentation is adequate.

Scattered throughout the text are blank boxes labelled GM Conversion Notes, which the GM can use to add stats to the gang; with this being a generic supplement, no system stats are given. Though this is a post-apocalyptic supplement, it is probably best suited for a near now apocalypse, and one that hadn’t happened that far in the past; perhaps a few years at most. Other than that, it should be suitable for a variety of different types of apocalypses for post-apocalyptic settings. The gang members are described in a good level of detail, and there are potential adventure hooks as well. Wasteland Gangs: The Termites is a decent little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
