A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement The Dee Sanction: The Gong Scourer’s Baby
The Dee Sanction: The Gong Scourer’s Baby by Paul Baldowski is a role playing game supplement published by Just Crunch Games for use with The Dee Sanction.
The supplement is available as a three-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1.78 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a bundle.
The first part of the supplement explains that there is a plot to kill Queen Elizabeth and that the adventure can take place at any time period. There is a section on possible people who might have been forced by the cultists to become part of the plot, and reasons why, and a timeline of events assuming they aren’t changed by the characters. Three weeks of the timeline take place before the adventure actually starts, and can be used to help organise clues to find.
The characters are called in to investigate a miraculous baby that isn’t such. There are various places, people and organisations to investigate, in order to find out the details of the plot and stop it.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and at this length doesn’t need them. Navigation is fine. The text maintains a four-column landscape format, which is difficult to read on smaller devices without zooming, and appeared to be free of errors. There is a single illustration and a map of the cultists’ lair. Presentation is adequate.
This adventure has a rather serious consequence should the characters fail; the Queen will die. Given that Queen Elizabeth is a rather significant element in The Dee Sanction, if that happened it could mean the GM would have to do some serious work to keep the campaign going. As such, an alternative outcome for failure might be preferred. The adventure does involve a fair amount of investigating, and there are a decent number of things for characters to follow up on, once they are called in.
