A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Stonewall

Stonewall by Cameron Donnelly & Richard Davis is a role playing game supplement published by Just a Fat Yeti for use with Mausritter. This is an adventure location.

The supplement is available as a six page Pay What You Want PDF from itch. One page is the front cover.

The Setting explains that most mice choose to live in the country away from humans, but those of Stonewall live in a condemned house near the centre of a large town that the mice call Stoney. It briefly explains potential dangers.

StonewallHooks has a d6 table of reasons why mice would choose to leave the safety of Stonewall.

Locations has a 2d6 list of locations in Stoney with brief descriptions.

Encounters has a d6 list of encounters, followed by stats for pigeons, rats (which are in the core book; there are new variants in this supplement), crows, stray cats and foxes, following the same style as in the core book, though neither stray cats nor foxes have variants.

Spells has a d4 list of new spells, complete with three tokens for each.

Finally, Treasure has a 2d6 table of treasure, with values for it where appropriate.

Stonewall in Review

The PDF lacks bookmarks and is short enough that these are not needed. Navigation is okay. The text primarily follows a two-column black and white format and appeared to be almost free of errors. There are a number of black and white illustrations, including for most of the creatures, except the rat, which appear to be stock, but unfortunately no map of the house. Presentation is okay.

Though this is a setting, the primary part of the setting itself, Stonewall, isn’t described in any more detail than it being a condemned house and sanctuary. Nor are any of the other locations in Stone, or Stoney itself, described any better. The various tables are useful, though, as are the new creatures, making this supplement most useful as a resource. Stonewall can be found on itch.
