Mini Quest: Terror at Inaruk

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Mini Quest: Terror at Inaruk

Mini Quest: Terror at Inaruk by David Dudka is a role playing game supplement published by Survive RPG for use with Dungeons & Dragons based games, although no particular system is specified. This is a short adventure for characters of 3rd-4th level, part of the Mini Quest series.

This is a three page PDF which is available from RPGNow as a Pay What You Want supplement.

Mini Quest: Terror at InarukThe characters need to be in a northern – very northern really – region to start this adventure. They are hired to travel to Inaruk, a small village from which a caravan of gems from the nearby dwarven mine is overdue.

There is a single encounter on the way to the village, and when the characters finally arrive they discover that everyone is dead. A dwarf from the nearby mine will tell them what happened, and the characters and dwarves will then need to go into the mine and kill a bunch of goblins and the white dragon responsible for the destruction.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and, at three pages, does not really need them. The text maintains a two column format, although the width of the columns does alter, and a few minor grammatical errors were noticed. There are a number of custom black and white illustrations and a partly coloured map of the mine. Presentation is well above average for a short supplement.

Unlike many of the adventures in this series, this one actually specifies what level it is aimed at. A young white dragon with a tribe of goblins should be a bit of a challenge too, even with dwarven help and their providing of good weapons.

This is a purely combat-based adventure. There is a combat encounter on the way to the village, a combat encounter in the village (after a bit of exploration) and a series of combat encounters as the characters clear out the mine.

Mini Quest: Terror at Inaruk is a decent, and perhaps challenging, combat-based adventure that can be checked out for free by clicking here.
