Lost in the Sands by Joseph Mohr is a role playing game supplement published by Old School Role Playing for use with Cepheus Engine. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as a 17 page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers, three the front matter and three the Open Game License.
The opening paragraphs explain that a mining survey in the adjacent unexplored sector – the adventure is set in the Frontiers of Space – discovered a pyramid on an uninhabitable world. The characters are hired by an academic to take him there so he can investigate.

Complications are things that can go wrong or which aren’t known.
CV2-HR5 has details on the planet.
Events on CV2-HR5 has a 2d6 table of events.
The Desert Sands has a 2d6 table on whether a landed ship sinks into them.
The Pyramid has encounters and details on the locations in the pyramid.
The GRUU has details on a member of a dangerous species of warriors and hunters that crash-landed on the world and will hunt the characters; the creature sounds very similar to a Predator.
The Finders has some brief details on an ancient people that the employer is looking for information on.
The Builders of this Place has some brief details on the aliens that built it.
Mission Completion explains that the employer leaving alive will result in payment.
The final two pages of content have a map of the pyramid.
Lost in the Sands in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and is long enough with enough different sections that these would have been useful. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a single column format and some minor errors were noticed. Bar the maps and covers, there are no illustrations. Presentation is okay.
In some respects, this is a simple enough exploratory adventure; the parts that make it difficult are the chance that the sands might swallow the characters’ ship and that they are going to end up being hunted by a dangerous, Predator-like being. Though the characters may survive, their employer is less likely to, and his death results in no payment. Lost in the Sands can be found by clicking here.
