Gregorius21778: Through the Blood-Marked Door

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Gregorius21778: Through the Blood-Marked Door

Gregorius21778: Through the Blood-Marked Door is a role playing game supplement written and published by Kai Pütz a.k.a Gregorius21778 for use with Coin & Blood: Second Edition. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered Open Game Content as a result. This is adapted from the original Lamentations of the Flame Princess supplement, Gregorius21778: The Blood-Drenched Room.

The supplement is available as an eight page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. One page is the front cover, half the front matter, half a page is ads and one the Open Game License.

Gregorius21778: Through the Blood-Marked DoorThe opening paragraphs explain that the door leads to a place created by murder and slaughter and can be called forth by certain classes. This place has another door leading to a room that leads to somewhere that human blood was spilled recently.

Behind the Blood-Marked Door describes the room behind the door. Red is a prominent theme. The default state of the room is described.

A d20 is then rolled, with a blood path track that has certain actions that alter the results of the roll. Low numbers have nothing happen, then combat events and worse things happen, with a result of 20 being rather unfortunate for the roller.

Sign of Blood-Marked Door is a new spell to summon the door.

Nrl’ Zalath – Those Who Find Ways is a new creature.

Gregorius21778: Through the Blood-Marked Door in Review

The PDF lacks bookmarks and is short enough that these are not needed. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a two-column format and some minor errors were noticed. There are a number of stock images, both colour and black and white. Presentation is okay.

It should be noted that these supplements are only available until Halloween and should therefore be picked up prior to that. This is essentially a single encounter that can be had multiple times; it can be used as a way to leave a place and get somewhere else, but doing so has risks. Gregorius21778: Through the Blood-Marked Door is an interesting little supplement and can be found by clicking here.
