A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Gregorius21778: The Mi-Go Outpost inside of the Red Mesa

Gregorius21778: The Mi-Go Outpost inside of the Red Mesa is a role playing game supplement written and published by Kai Pütz a.k.a Gregorius21778. This a generic supplement with a Lovecraftian theme.

The supplement is available as a 5 page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. One page is the front cover and half a page the front matter.

Gregorius21778: The Mi-Go Outpost inside of the Red MesaAbout this supplement: explains that it is a collection of ideas for an outpost of the Mi-Go as well as the contents of certain rooms. Though Lovecraftian in nature, it also contains some SF influences.

The Red Mesa describes the Red Mesa itself. It’s stated that it doesn’t belong in its surroundings and does not fit. Animals and insects keep away and there is no vegetation. There is a metal plate that functions as a door, which can be used to get in, and this is followed by a description of what would be found inside.

Nine different locations and items are then described. Naturally, there are brain cylinders in the outpost, as well as various other locations; meeting area, armoury and a portal to outer space are examples.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and is short enough that they are not needed. Navigation is fine. The text maintains a single column format and some minor errors were noticed. There is a single black and white illustration of a Mi-Go. Presentation is okay.

This is, as stated, not a complete adventure or location, but ideas for such. There is no map, so such would need adding in order to use the supplement. A suitable stock map with an SF theme would work. The locations could be used to flesh out an existing Mi-Go location and they could also be used as a base to construct a more detailed location. The supplement is generic in nature, so can be used with any system, and would equally work in a variety of settings, from fantasy to horror to futuristic. Gregorius21778: The Mi-Go Outpost inside of the Red Mesa is a decent seed for creating a Mi-Go base and it can be found by clicking here.
