A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Files for Everybody: Uncommon Diseases

Files for Everybody: Uncommon Diseases by Alexander Augunas is a role playing game supplement published by Everybody Games through Rogue Genius Games for use with Pathfinder 2E. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a seven-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $2.95 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. One page is the front cover, one the front matter, half an ad and two the Open Game License.

Files for Everybody: Uncommon DiseasesThe introductory paragraphs are standard for the series; the sidebar explains that the diseases are uncommon and therefore the PCs cannot inflict them on others without the GM’s permission. They are instead intended to be the result of travelling to remote or dangerous regions.

Each disease has a name, a brief description and stats.

Botanical blight transforms the victim into a plant.

Melting death causes flesh to slough from bones.

Mindreaver’s malediction causes mortal minds to be enthralled.

Mortasheen causes the victim to look like another.

Sapience pox causes a loss of thinking faculties.

Shapeshifter’s pox causes shapeshifters to lose control of their shapeshifting ability.

Shrinking shivers has the wrong description but reduces the victim’s size.

The sweats causes uncontrollable sweats.

Tainted blood animates the victim’s blood.

Zoobonic plague turns sapients into animals.

The PDF lacks bookmarks but with only two pages of content they are not needed. Navigation is fine. The text maintains a two-column format and an error with a duplicated description was noted, as well as a layout issue. There are no illustrations, bar the cover. Presentation is adequate.

The supplement presents ten new diseases, and they are laid out in the standard way. However, given these are new and uncommon, it would have been nice to get more fluff with them to make them more interesting, rather than primarily a list of game mechanics; this feels like a missed opportunity. Files for Everybody: Uncommon Diseases is an okay supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
