Circle of the Feydark 5e

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Circle of the Feydark 5e

Circle of the Feydark 5e by Stratos Fotakis is a role playing game supplement published by Wizards of the Coast through the DMs Guild Community Content Programme for use with Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition.

The supplement is available as a three page PDF for $1.45 from DMs Guild but was purchased at a reduced price thanks to a special offer. One page is the front cover and one the front matter.

The druid class can identify with a circle of druids at 2nd level, and this is considered a subclass. This supplement provides a new circle for characters to have.

Circle of the Feydark 5eThe opening paragraphs explain that druids who are members of this circle come from regions with a strong connection to the Feydark. They usually forgo animal transformations for the ability to summon and control twisted plants from the Feydark and they seek to eliminate those who have destroyed harvest places using the magic of evil fey.

Circle of the Feydark Spells lists the spells that the character gains access to and the levels they are gained, starting at 2nd; such spells are considered druid spells even if they wouldn’t normally be.

Blight Summoning, starting at 2nd, allows the character to summon blights from the Feydark by expending one use of Wild Shape.

Feydark Resilience results in damage caused by a blight’s natural weapons considered to be magical at 6th level and the druid can also sacrifice health to restore blights.

Dark Oak Hide, starting at 10th level, results in the druid and their blights gaining resistance to necrotic damage, and the character can create oak limbs to replace those lost.

At 14th level, Improved Blight Summoning allows a blight to become a tree blight for two uses of Wild Shape.

Circle of the Feydark 5e in Review

The PDF lacks bookmarks and with only one page of content doesn’t need them. Navigation is good. The text maintains a two column format and appeared to be free of error. There’s a single piece of colour stock art. Presentation is decent.

This supplement is what it sets out to be; a short one that adds a new circle, and therefore new options, for druids. It would have been nice if the circle was tied to an organisation in some way, but that’s a basic flaw of the circle concept, not this supplement. Circle of the Feydark 5e is a decent little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
