Book of Multifarious Munitions: 10 Pirate Ships (PFRPG)

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Book of Multifarious Munitions: 10 Pirate Ships (PFRPG)

Book of Multifarious Munitions: 10 Pirate Ships (PFRPG) by Dale McCoy Jr is a role playing game supplement published by Jon Brazer Enterprises for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a 10-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $2.95 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. Two pages are the front and rear covers, one the front matter and Open Game License, one the Table of Contents and Introduction and one an ad.

Book of Multifarious Munitions: 10 Pirate Ships (PFRPG)The Introduction explains how the book came about as a result of the release of Ultimate Equipment.

The rest of the book is taken up by the ships. There are four primary ships, using the standard format; Bilander, Caravel, Dhow and Dromond Long Warship. Each has a series of deck plans.

These main ship classes then have modified specific examples that follow the standard format but have extra details; these are individual ships. The Bilander has the Good Weather, which has magical sails that allow faster travel, and the Iron Lightning, that is an ironclad. The Caravel has the Indefatigable, a small frigate and pirate hunter. The Dhow has the Night Star, a smuggler’s ship. The Dromond has the Horn of Doom, a minotaur raider, and the Terror Trident, a pirate ship whose captain has been given water elementals by the goddess of piracy in exchange for killing the entire crews of taken ships, except any that swear fealty.

The PDF is bookmarked, with all sections linked, and the Table of Contents is to a similar depth. Navigation is very good. The main illustrations are the, useful, deck plans, as well as a single black and white illustration. Presentation is good.

This supplement is a useful collection of ships; not only the four main ship classes but the six specific ships as well. The ships aren’t all pirate ships either; as mentioned, one is even a pirate hunter. Book of Multifarious Munitions: 10 Pirate Ships (PFRPG) is a nice little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
