A Pestilence of Maths: A MÖRK-BORG Adventure

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement A Pestilence of Maths: A MÖRK-BORG Adventure

A Pestilence of Maths: A MÖRK-BORG Adventure by Ken Lowery is a role playing game supplement published by Bannerless Games for use with MÖRK BORG. This is an adventure.

The supplement is available as a 7-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $5 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. One page is the front cover and front matter and one an ad.

A Pestilence of Maths: A MÖRK-BORG AdventureI. Conflagration has the characters in a tavern when a man stumbles in, spouting numbers and glowing hot. He then ignites. At least one local knew him and where he was from. Several more people, all from the same village, catch fire in the streets in a similar manner.

A Test of Sanity has a new stat, Sanity. As Sanity rolls are made, characters move up steps in a six-step ladder as they are failed. Step six is emulating the NPC from the tavern.

II. The Trek North has the characters making their way to the village. There are four random encounters that could be had.

III. Leinheim has the characters arrive at the village; the inhabitants have all caught fire.

IV: The Tower has six possible rooms to examine before arriving at the top.

V. The Observatory is the final part of the adventure. A sage is attempting a Great Work; people spouting numbers and then catching fire is a side effect. One that should probably stopped.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and is short enough that these aren’t needed. Navigation is okay. The text is mostly, bar the introductory paragraphs, two-column format and appeared to be free of error. There are a couple of black and white, probably public domain, illustrations. Presentation is okay.

This is a short adventure though one with a few options, given the random encounters and parts of the tower to explore. It’s also one that could quickly prove deadly. Characters who readily fail sanity test will go up like, as such are described in the text, matchsticks. Failing to stop the sage would also be bad. A Pestilence of Maths: A MÖRK-BORG Adventure is a decent, though expensive at full price, little adventure and it can be found by clicking here.
