#1 With a Bullet Point: 9 Alchemical Bomb Discoveries

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement #1 With a Bullet Point: 9 Alchemical Bomb Discoveries

#1 With a Bullet Point: 9 Alchemical Bomb Discoveries by Owen K.C. Stephens is a role playing game supplement published by Rogue Genius Games (originally Super Genius Games) for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a three-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a bundle. One page is the Open Game License and credits.

The first page has some standard text for the #1 With a Bullet Point range explaining the philosophy and what the supplements contain.

The High Concept is a brief sentence explaining this has new alchemist discoveries for bombs.

#1 With a Bullet Point: 9 Alchemical Bomb DiscoveriesBombard allows an alchemist to infuse an arrow, crossbow bolt or firearm bullet held by an adjacent ally with the power of a bomb. Which is pretty powerful.

Dye Bomb looks to have been inspired by bank dye packs; it leaves an indelible stain that cannot even be normally washed for 72 hours and takes two weeks to fade, unless magic is used.

Elemental Bomb is actually several discoveries, each of which allows a bomb that would do fire damage to do shock, acid, cold or electricity damage.

Gas Bomb covers an area in gas, doing either nonlethal or no damage.

Glitterbomb covers an area in golden particles, outlining the invisible.

Laughing Gas Bomb has an effect similar to hideous laughter.

Personal Immunity means the alchemist is immune to their own bombs; useful, especially for those who decide to attack surrounding enemies with a bomb.

Remote Detonator allows the alchemist to detonate a bomb, though they must either be connected to it or have line of sight.

Volatile Bombs increases the save DC by +1.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and at this length doesn’t need them. Navigation is fine. The text maintains a three-column format (normally seen in Super Genius’s old landscape format PDFs; as this one is portrait, it’s a bit cluttered) and appeared to be mostly free of errors. There is a single black and white image on the cover. Presentation is okay.

This is a nice collection of discoveries to make bombs more interesting and versatile; Volatile Bombs is admittedly a bit bland and Bombard may be a little too powerful. #1 With a Bullet Point: 9 Alchemical Bomb Discoveries is a decent little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
