#1 With a Bullet Point: 7 Stupid Weapon Designs

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement #1 With a Bullet Point: 7 Stupid Weapon Designs

#1 With a Bullet Point: 7 Stupid Weapon Designs by Owen K.C. Stephens is a role playing game supplement published by Rogue Genius Games (originally Super Genius Games) for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a three-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. One page is the front cover and one the Open Game License and Credits.

The first page has some standard text for the #1 With a Bullet Point range explaining the philosophy and what the supplements contain.

The High Concept says these are stupid weapon designs, as befits an April 1st release.

#1 With a Bullet Point: 7 Stupid Weapon DesignsBastard Club can be wielded with two hands.

Battle Lute is an iron lute that is harder to play and reduces the range of bardic abilities.

Codpiece, Spiked, can make attacks using a grapple and a fumble means it damages the user (though no details are provided as to what other effects such damage might have).

Extended Pike is a wobbly pike that can attack creatures 35-40′ away.

Glaive-Guisarme-Bec-de-Voulge is a polearm made from several different polearms.

Greatwhip is a two-handed whip with a longer reach.

Star-Chuks is a lethal gnomish invention made from a metal ring around which wooden batons spin and is liable to brain the user.

#1 With a Bullet Point: 7 Stupid Weapon Designs in Review

The PDF lacks bookmarks and with only one true page of content doesn’t need them. Navigation is fine. The text maintains the old three-column landscape format used by Super Genius Games and appeared to be free of errors. There is a single piece of stock art and the cover. Presentation is okay.

This is as it says; seven stupid weapons. Almost none of them – the Glaive-Guisarme-Bec-de-Voulge is almost usable – have any sane reason for using them, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be entertaining in game. #1 With a Bullet Point: 7 Stupid Weapon Designs is a supplement that provides exactly what it says it does and can be found by clicking here.
