#1 With a Bullet Point: 6 New Exotic and Martial Swords

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement #1 With a Bullet Point: 6 New Exotic and Martial Swords

#1 With a Bullet Point: 6 New Exotic and Martial Swords by Owen K.C. Stephens is a role playing game supplement published by Rogue Genius Games (originally Super Genius Games) for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a three-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a bundle. One page is the Open Game License and credits.

The first page has some standard text for the #1 With a Bullet Point range explaining the philosophy and what the supplements contain.

#1 With a Bullet Point: 6 New Exotic and Martial SwordsThis supplement has stats for six new, but genuine, swords. Each of them is described and a table has their game stats.

The cinquedea is either a long dagger or a very short sword.

The estoc is a sword with a triangular or hexagonal blade used for piercing.

The executioner’s sword is a heavy, square-tipped blade with a heavier end, designed for lopping off heads.

The kampilan has a forward pointing spike near the tip, giving it various qualities.

The manople is a sword with two blades projecting sideways and is harder to disarm.

The swordstaff is a short sword-like blade on a long piece of wood.

The PDF lacks bookmarks but with only one page of content doesn’t need them. The text maintains Super Genius’ old three column landscape format and a minor error was noticed. There are a couple of generally appropriate stock black and white images. Presentation is fine.

Some of these weapons are more interesting than others. The executioner’s blade can be potentially lethal, but really isn’t a combat weapon. The blades have different abilities; even the cinquedea, one of the most boring, has an improved critical range. #1 With a Bullet Point: 6 New Exotic and Martial Swords is an adequate supplement adding some new weapons and it can be found by clicking here.
