#1 With a Bullet Point: 5 Mount Steed Spell Feats

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement #1 With a Bullet Point: 5 Mount Steed Spell Feats

#1 With a Bullet Point: 5 Mount Steed Spell Feats by Owen K.C. Stephens is a role playing game supplement published by Rogue Genius Games (originally Super Genius Games) for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a three-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a bundle. One page is the front cover and one page is the Open Game License and credits.

#1 With a Bullet Point: 5 Mount Steed Spell FeatsThe first page has some standard text for the #1 With a Bullet Point range explaining the philosophy and what the supplements contain.

The High Concept explains that these feats are intended to augment spells used with riders, or spells used to conjure or capture steeds.

Aethon extends the effect of abjuration spells intended to protect the caster or allies to their steeds, as long as the steed is being ridden.

Buraq allows any healing spell cast on a target, the steed being ridden also gets the full affect.

Augment Steed allows the caster to forgo one or more of steeds that would be conjured by a spell in order to augment another.

Heighten Steed Spell makes conjured steeds faster and tougher.

Summon Steed means that when monsters are summoned, they come equipped with appropriate equipment to be ridden and are both willing and trained to do so. This does not consider what would happen with creatures that are not remotely intended to be ridden and have nowhere to sit. And the ability to, say, conjured a powerful demon equipped with riding gear and willing and trained to be ridden seems daft.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and at this length doesn’t need them. Navigation is fine. The text maintains the old three-column landscape format used by Super Genius Games and appeared to be mostly free of errors. There are a couple of pieces of black and white stock art. Presentation is okay.

Having spells only work when a steed is ridden seems a little on the silly side on times, given Aethon and Buraq. Some of the feats are extremely niche, some have some worth and others really look like they needed a bit more care put into them to account for some daft situations that could arise. #1 With a Bullet Point: 5 Mount Steed Spell Feats is at best okay and it can be found by clicking here.
