#1 With a Bullet Point: 5 Magic Witch's Daggers

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement #1 With a Bullet Point: 5 Magic Witch’s Daggers

#1 With a Bullet Point: 5 Magic Witch’s Daggers by Owen K.C. Stephens is a role playing game supplement published by Rogue Genius Games (originally Super Genius Games) for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a three-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a bundle. One page is the Open Game License and credits.

The first page has some standard text for the #1 With a Bullet Point range explaining the philosophy and what the supplements contain.

#1 With a Bullet Point: 5 Magic Witch's DaggersThe second page has the actual content and it explains that this supplement introduces a new class of magic items; athames, which are magic daggers designed to aid witches, especially with the hex ability.

Athame of Might counts as an alchemical silver weapon and can be used to increase the save DC of a hex by +1 three times a day. Cursed versions exist.

Athame of Prowess can, three times a day, double the range or the duration of applicable hexes.

Athame of Seeking can, three times a day, allow the wielder to throw a hex that targets a single creature as a seeking hex.

Hawksclaw Athame can make a witch spell or hex used by the wielder originate from their familiar.

Swiftjinx Athame allows the wielder to, three times a day, use a hex as a move action rather than as a standard action.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and with one page of content doesn’t need them. Navigation is fine. The text maintains Super Genius’ old three column landscape format and appeared to be free of errors. There are three pieces of black and white dagger stock art. Presentation is fine.

This is a surprisingly nice little supplement. The athames all benefit the iconic hex ability of witches, and each is limited to three primary uses, which seems thematically appropriate. As they are also daggers, they can be used as weapons too, with varying efficiency; some are better than others. #1 With a Bullet Point: 5 Magic Witch’s Daggers has three thematically appropriate and useful magic items for witches and it can be found by clicking here.
