A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement #1 With a Bullet Point: 4 Ghostbusting Items

#1 With a Bullet Point: 4 Ghostbusting Items by Owen K.C. Stephens is a role playing game supplement published by Rogue Genius Games (originally Super Genius Games) for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a three-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a bundle. One page is the Open Game License and credits.

The first page has some standard text for the #1 With a Bullet Point range explaining the philosophy and what the supplements contain.

#1 With a Bullet Point: 4 Ghostbusting ItemsThe High Concept is a brief paragraph explaining the supplement.

Oil of Force is a liquid that allows an ordinary item to be used to attack and damage incorporeal creatures whilst the effect lasts.

Pocket Coffin is a small item that can absorb an undead’s essence when destroyed to stop them returning to the mortal world. Undead inside the coffin cannot open it, but anyone outside can easily. Yes, this is a ghost trap from Ghostbusters.

Rod of Holy Water is essentially a holy water water pistol, for want of a better description.

Spectral Torch is an apparently burnt out torch that can be used to track the undead and sometimes even identify the type.

The PDF lacks bookmarks and with only one true page of content doesn’t need them. Navigation is fine. The text maintains the old three-column landscape format used by Super Genius Games and appeared to be free of errors. There is a single piece of stock art and the cover. Presentation is okay.

This is a cheap supplement with some useful magic items in it. Yes, some (all?) are clearly inspired by Ghostbusters, but this isn’t thematically like the franchise. #1 With a Bullet Point: 4 Ghostbusting Items is a perfectly fine little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
