Wilderness Dressing: Deserts by Brian Wiborg Mønster is a role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as an 11-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $3.75 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. Two pages are the front and rear covers, one is an ad, one the front matter and Contents and one the Open Game License. The PDF comes in two versions, one intended for print and high-end devices, one intended for low-end and mobile.
Table A: Minor Events is a d100 table of various minor events.
Table B: Desert Dressing is a d100 table of features to see.
Random Desert Encounters is a d12 table of random encounters.
Desert Terrain Features has some brief details on stealth and detection, the effect of different types of terrain and those of sandstorms.
Wilderness Dressing: Deserts in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with the major sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is decent. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are a couple of black and white stock illustrations. Presentation is decent.
The results in Random Desert Encounters all have the same chance of happening if the table is rolled on, whether the result be gnolls or an adult blue dragon. Needless to say, this table should not be rolled on randomly. Though there are some Pathfinder stats in Tables A and B, many lack any and even those that do can easily be altered. The majority of the supplement is therefore suitable for most systems. This is a useful supplement, but it’s also part of GM’s Miscellany: Wilderness Dressing which is a more cost-effective way of buying it. Wilderness Dressing: Deserts can be found by clicking here.
