Vathak Terrors: Cured of Ursatur by Landon Winkler is a role playing game supplement published by Fat Goblin Games for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as a ten-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $3.41 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. One page is the front cover, one the front matter, one the Contents and one the Open Game License.
The Introduction explains that Ursatur used to be the capital of Ina’oth – the supplement is for Shadows Over Vathak – until it suffered the Plague of Shadows. It describes how this led to the three monsters contained in this supplement being created. There are also explanations as to abbreviations and Gamemaster’s Guide to Ina’oth is recommended to learn more about Ursatur and Ina’oth.
Monsters then covers the three new monsters.
Anna’s Forgotten are undead children who Anna Schafer failed to save. They hate the living, play cruel pranks on them and some even seek to replicate what was done to them on others.
Extergeists are undead who died from their attempts to ward off the plague and see everyone as a source of infection.
Plague Cymoth are hatched from eggs and infect those who drank tainted waters, or deliberately ate the eggs, being subject to an infestation that results in a cymoth eating and replacing their tongue. This is a combination of monster and disease.
Vathak Terrors: Cured of Ursatur in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with the various sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is decent. There are a number of colour illustrations, including one for each monster. Presentation is decent.
This is basically a mini bestiary with three new monsters. Though the fluff is tied to the Shadows Over Vathak setting, it would be easy enough to ignore that, or change it in some way, so that they can be used in other settings. Vathak Terrors: Cured of Ursatur can be found by clicking here.
