Urban Locale #04: Wizard’s Tower by Creighton Broadhurst is a generic role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press.
The supplement is available as a 7-page PDF for $1.75 from DriveThruRPG but was purchased at a reduced price thanks to a special offer. The supplement comes in two versions, a plaintext file and a PDF. Two pages are the front and rear covers, two pages are ads and about half a page is the front matter and Contents.
Using this Urban Locale is a standard piece explaining how to use the lists and what each list covers. This is followed by a brief paragraph on wizard’s towers, then the d10 lists.
1: The Wizard’s Tower has ten descriptions of different towers, together with some the wizard owner’s name, alignment, species and sex.
2: Major Locale Features has larger pieces of dressing, to do with the tower’s appearance.
3: Minor Locale Features is similar but smaller.
4: What’s Going On? has ten events.
5: Apprentices has ten such to meet, each named, given their alignment, species and sex as well as a brief description.
6: What’s For Sale? has ten things to buy, each named, given a price if it’s fixed and described.
Urban Locale #04: Wizard’s Tower in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with the various sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is good. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are no illustrations. Presentation is adequate.
This supplement has ten ways to make a wizard’s tower more distinct. The contents are only really suitable for giving some kind of overview rather than covering the tower of a major wizard; in such cases, the GM will need to flesh out the descriptions more. For a wizard the characters may not spend much time interacting with, this is useful. Urban Locale #04: Wizard’s Tower can be found by clicking here.
