Urban Dressing: Elven Town 2.0 (P1)

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Urban Dressing: Elven Town 2.0 (P1)

Urban Dressing: Elven Town 2.0 (P1) by Josh Vogt is a role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

Urban Dressing: Elven Town 2.0 (P1)The supplement is available as a 13-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $3.75 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. Two pages are the front and rear covers, two are ads, one the front matter and Contents and one the Open Game License. The PDF comes in two versions, one intended for print and high-end devices, one intended for low-end and mobile.

Elven Town: Sights & Sounds is a d100 list of things to see and hear in an elven town.

Elven Town: Businesses is a d100 list with 50 businesses. Each business is given a name, type of business and a brief description.

Elven Town: Folk of Interest is a d100 list with 50 NPCs to encounter. Each is given a name, alignment, sex, species and level, with a brief description.

Elven Town: Adventure Hooks is a d100 list with 20 adventure hooks.

The PDF is bookmarked with the various sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is decent. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are a couple of black and white illustrations, one full page in size. Presentation is decent.

Just as with others in the 2.0 range of Urban Dressing supplements, this adds nothing new. Those with the original, or the compilation, GM’s Miscellany: Urban Dressing II, will get no benefit from getting this. The supplement, despite being classed as Pathfinder, is largely system neutral with the only game stats being essentially in the NPC descriptions, and much of those will easily convert to other similar systems, and with a bit more work to different ones. For those who lack either the original or compilation, this provides a range of things that can be used to add colour to an elven settlement or district.
