The Blacksmith Shop a Planet Archipelago Location by Steve Simmons is a role playing game supplement published by Planet Archipelago for use with Planet Archipelago.

The Blacksmith Shop explains that this is a type of business found in almost every town or village. It explains that this supplement is intended to give the GM a realistic interaction for characters to have with a blacksmith. It then goes into percentages about what services and items a blacksmith might provide, the likelihood of them having apprentices and the work hours. Blacksmiths can sell to other merchants but will also sell from their own shop at a cheaper price, though not to just anyone, otherwise they would lose their wholesale business.
Following this is a range of typical items that blacksmiths make, with percentage chances that a particular smith will sell them, price ranges and stats for weapons and those that can be used as such in a pinch.
Finally, there are details on a blacksmith and their three apprentices. Each is described, given stats, age, motive, equipment and feelings on a number of matters.
The Blacksmith Shop a Planet Archipelago Location in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and is long enough with enough different sections that these would have been useful. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a single column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are a variety of colour images, both stock photos and created images, including one for every type of blacksmith item and all the NPCs. Presentation is okay.
This supplement doesn’t so much describe a single blacksmith’s shop as it does provide details for creating them and what they sell, along with the NPC details. It should also be easy enough to convert it to other systems, and use it in other settings.
