Outworlders by Joseph Mohr is a role playing game supplement published by Old School Role Playing for use with Cepheus Engine. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as a 22-page PDF from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers, three the front matter and three the Open Game License.
The opening paragraphs explain that the ruler of a planet in the Sonora sector – the adventure is set in the Frontiers of Space – wants to hire the characters to rescue his daughter who was kidnapped by a barbarian warrior from her university and taken to the barbarian’s homeworld.
Patron has some details on the employer.
Complications are things that are not known or which can go wrong.
Quintar Secundus has some details on the barbarian and his world, which is low tech with strict weapons laws against high tech weapons, which are enforced by high tech drones.
Starport Security has details on this; they are equipped with high tech weapons.
Important Legal Points has various laws that will probably be relevant to the characters.
Patrolling the Skies has some details on the drones.
The Lands Around Castle Brulax has a paragraph on this, mostly relevant for encountering patrols.
Castle Brulax details the castle.
Security Drones has stats for the drones.
Roster of Castle Brulax Guards and Leadership is a 6d6 table of NPCs.
The final two pages of content have maps of the world and the castle.
Outworlders in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and is long enough with enough different sections that these would have been useful. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a single column format and some minor errors were noticed. Bar the maps and covers, there are no illustrations. Presentation is okay.
The NPC list is, as is common, really longer than needed; just a handful of stats would have sufficed. The adventure itself is one where the characters are at a serious disadvantage and whatever they do will have problems. Perhaps this is why there aren’t any mission completion details. This is an adventure the characters would probably be best to pass up on. Outworlders can be found by clicking here.
