Gear for the Frontiers of Space by Joseph Mohr is a role playing game supplement published by Old School Role Playing for use with Cepheus Engine. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as a 38 page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers, three the front matter and three the Open Game License.
Gear for the Frontiers of Space explains that this is a list of items available in the Sonora sector, though they may not be available for sale. They may need finding or taking, and may need special skills to use. The rest of the supplement covers the various items available, divided into the categories of animal gear, communication devices, drones, drugs, helms, medical gear, miscellaneous (some of which might fit into other categories), poisons, probes, robots (more robots are detailed in Robots of the Frontiers of Space), satellites, special devices, survival gear, torture devices, weapons and weapons of mass destruction.
Gear for the Frontiers of Space in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and has enough categories that these would have been useful. Navigation could be better. The text maintains a single column format and some minor errors were noticed. Var the covers, there are no illustrations. Presentation is adequate.
This supplement has a wide range of gear, from low text to high tech and covering a range of purposes, and naturally it is easy enough to use them in any Cepheus Engine game, making this a useful general-purpose supplement. Gear for the Frontiers of Space can be found by clicking here.
