A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Fat Goblin Gazette #1

Fat Goblin Gazette #1 is a role playing game supplement published by Fat Goblin Games for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

Fat Goblin Gazette #1The supplement is available as an 11-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1.95 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. One page is the front cover, on the Content, one is ads and one the Open Game License.

The PDF is bookmarked with the major sections linked. The Content is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is decent. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of error. There are a number of colour illustrations. Presentation is good.

The problem with this supplement is that it is essentially an ad for the publisher’s supplements, and an ad that needs paying for. Yes, there are some useful things in Sir Reginald’s Latest Works, but that’s pretty much it. This is the sort of supplement that should have been free, in order to encourage people to buy the complete supplements. Instead, it’s paid for which means that if something is liked, it has to be bought again. Even a bundle including this would have been better. On its own, this is not worth getting.
