1001 Cargoes for the Frontiers of Space by Joseph Mohr is a role playing game supplement published by Old School Role Playing for use with Cepheus Engine. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Contents as a result.
The supplement is available as a 57 page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers, three the front matter and three the Open Game License.
The opening paragraphs explain that in the Frontiers of Space characters will encounter ships carrying cargoes, for one reason or another. It states that the first cargo is simple; nothing. The remainder are listed. Credit values and tonnages need assigning.
A List of Cargoes is the table and it takes up most of the supplement. It has the result, the cargo and then a description. In some cases, descriptions can be very short, just being one word, whilst in others they are more detailed.
GM Notes explains how the entries are covered, that ones too large for the ship they are on should be rerolled, that some things come in different Tech Levels that need determining and some materials are worth something in one place and worthless in others. It also states that there is a lot of information that the GM still needs to determine.
1001 Cargoes for the Frontiers of Space in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and, though long, has minimal sections so these are not essential. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a single column format and appeared to be almost free of errors. Bar the covers, there are no illustrations. Presentation is adequate.
Though this is stated as being for the Frontiers of Space, it is adaptable to other settings. Many results will work as-is; others will need some tweaking to remove setting-specific details. As the supplement states, work will be needed by the GM to finish any cargo, as some things are left for the GM to determine. 1001 Cargoes for the Frontiers of Space is a useful little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
