Yin Yang Panda – Character Customization Tool by Łukasz Kołodziej is a role playing game supplement published by Skavenloft for use with Yin Yang Panda, which is based on Lasers & Feelings and is covered by the CC BY 4.0 license.
The supplement is available as an 11-page PDF for free from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers, one the front matter and one the Table of Contents.
The Introduction explains this is a splatbook that allows heroes to be customised.
How to Use This explains that the basics for the game are needed and players should agree beforehand to use this supplement (though it has little game effect).
But Remember! explains not to go overboard by using every table.
Look is a set of ten d6 tables and three d12 for customising body type, height, weight, colour, hair, eyes, tail, scars & tattoo placement, tattoo types, scar types, accessories, clothes and retinue.
Personality is a set of 15 d6 tables for determining character, voice, hidden talent, likes, dislikes, favoured place, favoured food, favoured colours, favoured toy, favoured music instrument, view on fighting, fighting style and origin, divided into landscape, place and distance.
Other has three d6 tables and six d8 tables, three-part monastery names generator, three-part folks generator and a three-part rivals generator.
Yin Yang Panda – Character Customization Tool in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and, though short, these would have been appreciated. The Table of Contents covers the major sections. Navigation could be better. The text format varies, given the use of lots of tables, and appeared to be mostly free of errors. There are no internal illustrations. Presentation is adequate.
Bar referencing the fighting styles, this is a generally useful supplement that could easily be used with other systems and a similar kind of setting, making it much broader in its potential usage than just for Yin Yang Panda. Yin Yang Panda – Character Customization Tool is a decent collection of tables and it can be found by clicking here.
