Three for the Grave (Elemental Edition)

Free Role Playing Game Supplement Review: Three for the Grave (Elemental Edition)

Three for the Grave (Elemental Edition) by Michael Prescott is a role playing game supplement published by Gildor Games for use with Elemental. This adventure is adapted from the original system-neutral version and is CC-BY-NC 3.0.

The supplement is available for free from DriveThruRPG as a four-page PDF and a second, 13-page PDF.

Three for the Grave (Elemental Edition)The first PDF is the adventure location itself, a temple in an area known as the Neathfens. The first two pages have some rumours for the local area and this is followed by a description of the land, an overview of the Neathfen villages, including a notable NPC and some other features of the area, including some bears with problems. Finally, the temple itself is given a brief map and description, including what the shrine’s guardians are up to.

The third page of content has the Elemental stats. There are details on travelling through the Neathfens, stats for the various creatures and NPCs encountered and role playing notes for most of these.

The final page has a players’ map of the temple.

The second PDF has six pre-generated Elemental characters.

Three for the Grave (Elemental Edition)

The primary PDF isn’t bookmarked and, given its length, doesn’t need to be. The secondary PDF has each character linked. The text maintains a four-column landscape format and there is what appears to be a single custom illustration and the map. Presentation is decent, though maps in later adventures like this are better.

This is another in a series of adventures that are what they are intended to be; an original, system-neutral adventure converted to Elemental, providing free content for users of the system. This one could be expanded further; the Neathfens are not mapped or described in any great detail. This does mean they are easy to drop into any similar area in a campaign world. Three for the Grave (Elemental Edition) is a decent little adventure and it can be downloaded for free by clicking here.
