The Full-Dark Stone (Elemental Edition)

Free Role Playing Game Supplement Review: The Full-Dark Stone (Elemental Edition)

The Full-Dark Stone (Elemental Edition) by Michael Prescott is a role playing game supplement published by Gildor Games for use with Elemental. This adventure is adapted from the original in Trilemma Adventures Compendium Volume 1 and appears to be a combination of CC-NY-NC 3.0 for the Elemental adaption and CC-BY-NC 4.0 for the original.

The supplement is available for free from DriveThruRPG as a four-page PDF and a second, 13-page PDF.

The Full-Dark Stone (Elemental Edition)The first PDF is the adventure location itself. This was a secret vault constructed to house something called a spell engine. The first page has an overview of the background, a list of rumours and an isometric map of the site with locations marked around it. The final bit of this page and the second page have details on an NPC, random encounters, various creatures and various magical items.

The third page is the Elemental conversion. This has a d6 list of climbing failures for getting to the location and Elemental stats for the various creatures and items.

The final page is an unlabelled map of the site.

The second PDF has six pre-generated Elemental characters, with stats and descriptions. Note; these pre-generated characters appear to be drawn from a pool of Elemental characters used in various supplements.

The Full-Dark Stone (Elemental Edition) in Review

The adventure location PDF lacks bookmarks and is short enough that it doesn’t need them. The pre-generated characters PDF has each character linked. Navigation is good. The text roughly maintains a four-column landscape format and appeared to be free of errors. The main illustration is the rather nice black and white map that was drawn for the original adventure; there is also a piece of filler and portraits for the pre-gens. Presentation is decent.

This is another system-neutral adventure location that has been converted to Elemental. It’s a self-contained location that can be dropped in pretty much anywhere and a short adventure that is probably suitable for a session’s play. The advantage it has, for those that use Elemental, is that it’s another piece of content for the system, and that is always good. The Full-Dark Stone (Elemental Edition) is a decent adventure and conversion and it can be found by clicking here.
