Manual of Roguish Magic: A Free D10 Magic Item List for Thieves & Rogues by Steven Chabotte is a free role playing game supplement published by Lucky Dice Games. Although stated to be generic, it is still covered by the Open Game License with some parts considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as a seven-page PDF for free from DriveThruRPG. One page is the front cover, two are ads and one the Open Game License.
The first page of content explains that the supplement contains ten items that require attunement and which can only be used by a thief.
Goggles of Deep Vision can be used to peer inside an object and grant a bonus to opening locks and disabling traps.
Gloves of the Shadow Thief improve Dexterity checks and allows pass without trace.
Boots of the Cat improve Dexterity checks when climbing and can cast feather fall.
The Crown of Aluminium protects from psychic probes and mind reading.
The Heartfelt Dagger has a poison reservoir.
The Psychic Scroll fills with content appropriate to a task; it’s the Doctor’s psychic paper.
The Cloak of Sidestepping allows the wearer to shift five feet.
The Trumpet of Aural Perceptiveness improves passive perception and perception checks related to sound.
The Roving Eye can travel away from the rogue but they can still see through it.
The Key is a skeleton key that can open anything.
Manual of Roguish Magic: A Free D10 Magic Item List for Thieves & Rogues in Review
The PDF lacks bookmarks and is short enough that these aren’t needed. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a single column format and appeared to be almost free of error. There are no illustrations. Presentation is adequate.
Though this is stated to be generic, it’s in truth aimed at Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, though it should be easy enough to convert to similar systems; ones that are noticeably different will be harder. Manual of Roguish Magic: A Free D10 Magic Item List for Thieves & Rogues is a decent little supplement and it can be downloaded for free by clicking here.
