Gior's Glassworks

Free Role Playing Game Supplement Review: Gior’s Glassworks

Gior’s Glassworks by Patrick Lawinger is a generic role playing game supplement published by Generic Universe Publishing.

The supplement is available as an eight-page PDF for free from DriveThruRPG. One page is the front cover, one the front matter and one is an ad.

Gior's GlassworksThe opening paragraphs give an overview of the appearance of the glassworks, how Gior has managed to turn it into a very successful business and the sort of products it makes.

Following this, the glassworks itself is mapped and described

Products then describes in more detail the products that Gior and his apprentices can make.

Personalities describes the NPCs associated with the glassworks. These are Gior, his shop manager, four named apprentices and some unnamed travelling apprentices. The named NPCs are given names, sex, species, height, weight and age. All are also given descriptions as well.

Adventure Ideas finally has three adventure hooks.

Gior’s Glassworks in Review

The PDF lacks bookmarks and is long enough with enough different sections that these would have been useful. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are a number of black and white illustrations, as well as a map of the shop. Presentation is decent.

Though no stats are given, this is a shop and therefore should be easy enough to add any necessary stats, which in most cases will be little if any, for any system. It’s written for a fairly standard fantasy setting and should be easy enough to drop into such, and is described in a good level of detail. Gior’s Glassworks is a decent little supplement useful for fleshing out a city and it can be downloaded for free by clicking here.
