Free Role Playing Game Supplement Review: Edelweiss – Endless Forms Most Beautiful

Edelweiss – Endless Forms Most Beautiful by Łukasz Kołodziej is a free role playing game supplement published by Skavenloft for use with Edelweiss. The supplement is covered by the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 Unported license.

The supplement is available as a 16-page PDF for free from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers, two the front matter and one the Table of Content.

The Introduction explains that this has extra prompts and ideas for use with Edelweiss and that you should choose what you want to use with the game.

Holidays has a selection of holidays to include. Each is given a name and a brief description and there are four groups, those to honour specific people, those to celebrate specific events, those to celebrate specific cultures and those to celebrate specific professions, each of which has three holidays.

Treats is a selection of treats from the different peoples, giants, humans and gnomes from the core book and fairies from Edelweiss – Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost, each with three samples.

Legends has three legends for each of the four peoples of Edelweiss.

Finally, Treasures has treasures, each in groups of three and the groups are by profession; artist, craftsman, guide, mystic and scholar. This section also explains that if a character owns a treasure, they can replace their equipment trait with it.

Edelweiss – Endless Forms Most Beautiful in Review

The PDF lacks bookmarks and has enough different sections that these would have been useful. The Table of Content covers the various sections and is hyperlinked. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a single column format and appeared to be almost free of errors. There are some colour public domain images up to full page in size. Presentation is decent.

This supplement adds a bunch of new options to Edelweiss, though as the game itself is more of a storytelling game, these options are more story based than anything. The supplement does add a fair amount of options to enhance the game’s storytelling.
