Wilderness Dressing: Primal Forest by Mike Welham is a role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as a 13-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $3.75 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. Two pages are the front and rear covers, one is an ad, one the front matter and Contents and one the Open Game License. The PDF comes in two versions, one intended for print and high-end devices, one intended for low-end and mobile.
Table A: Minor Events is a d100 table of minor events to happen during a journey.
Table B: Primal Forest Dressing is a d100 list of things to see.
Table C: Random Primal Forest Encounters is a d12 list of 12 encounters to have.
Wilderness Dressing: Primal Forest in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with the major sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is decent. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There is a single full page stock illustration. Presentation is decent.
It’s not exactly clear what a primal forest is, which should perhaps have been explained. It’s clearly not a normal wood, so is it an old one with old magics lingering? That might be inferred from “primal” but it could have done with explaining. The random encounters in Table C all have the same chance of occurring, whether they be giant crab spiders or a fruminous bandersnatch. Table C should not be rolled on randomly, in other words. Overall, this isn’t a bad supplement and Tables A and B are useful, but overall it just feels somewhat lacking. Wilderness Dressing: Primal Forest can be found by clicking here.
