A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Wilderness Dressing: Extreme Weather Remastered (P1)

Wilderness Dressing: Extreme Weather Remastered (P1) by Mike Welham is a role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

The supplement is available as a 13-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $3.75 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. Two pages are the front and rear covers, two are ads, one the front matter and Contents and one is the Open Game License. The PDF comes in two versions, one designed for print and high-end devices, the other for mobile and low-end devices.

Rainstorm has a paragraph describing these then three d100 tables, each of which has 20 results. These are Description, Events and Hooks & Complications.

Wilderness Dressing: Extreme Weather Remastered (P1) in Review

The PDF is well bookmarked with major and minor sections linked. The Contents only covers the major sections, but is hyperlinked. Navigation is good. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There is a single full page black and white illustration. Presentation is okay.

This is another one of the remastered versions of this series. It’s missing one of the sections from the original, on running storms. The various tables themselves are still useful, with the dressing tables running from interesting to dangerous and the final tables being essentially adventure hooks. There are only a handful of Pathfinder stats – the missing section had the most – and these are just footnotes in the tables, making this effectively system neutral as well. For owners of the original supplement, this isn’t worth getting as it has nothing new and less material, and as the original supplement itself is still available at the same price, it would probably be better getting that.
