Weekly Wonders – Assassin’s Armory by Alex Riggs and Joshua Zaback is a role playing game supplement published by Necromancers of the Northwest for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as an eight-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $1.49 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. Two pages are the front and rear covers, one the front matter and one the Open Game License.
The Introduction explains that the right tools are important for a job, that for an assassin killing is a job and what the supplement contains.
New Magic Items has eight new magic items.
The bone dart causes more damage and makes the body of a target killed by one rot and decay quickly.
The cloak of the night adds a bonus to saving throws and provides concealment.
The dagger of soul stealing can trap the soul of those killed with it inside the weapon.
The gasbreather’s mask makes the wearer immune to harmful vapours and gases, can absorb inhaled poisons and can cause a cloud of smoke to billow forth.
Gloves of entrance and exit can be used to create openings to pass through in solid surfaces.
The lifesight mask allows the user to see health auras of creatures in their field of vision.
Poisoner’s gloves prevent the user from poisoning themselves by accident and each has a unique way of storing and delivering poison.
Roofwalker’s boots grant a bonus to Acrobatics and Stealth checks,
New Poisons has ten new poisons. These are in a range of types, though most require injury.
Weekly Wonders – Assassin’s Armory in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with major and minor sections linked. Navigation is good. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There is a single colour illustration. Presentation is okay.
This is a useful collection of new items to those types that require stealth or kill using it. Some are quite nasty, and they don’t all have to be used by assassins, naturally enough; some are of definite use to thiefly types as well.
