Vathak Grimoires: Echoes of the Final Heartbeat by Jacob Trier is a role playing game supplement published by Fat Goblin Games for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as a ten-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $3.41 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. One page is the front cover, one the front matter, one the Contents and one the Open Game License.
The Introduction gives some background fluff on the grimoire related to the Shadows Over Vathak setting, and how the author ended up in Halsburg after her husband was killed by inquisitors. Writing the grimoire in her own blood resulted in her death.
Spells has nine new spells, ranging from levels 1 to 9. Though there are spells other than necromantic ones, even the couple that are not necromantic in school have connections to blood.
New Feats has a single new metamagic feat.
Spellbook has details on the grimoire itself, with a description, its caster level, protections, value, ritual and spells in it, both those in this supplement and others.
Vathak Grimoires: Echoes of the Final Heartbeat in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with major sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is okay. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There is a single colour illustration. Presentation is okay.
This supplement basically details a single grimoire in detail with some new spells and some related fluff. The fluff ties it into the Shadows Over Vathak setting, and to use it in others it could either be modified to fit or ignored completely, depending on preference; neither stops it from being used in different settings. Vathak Grimoires: Echoes of the Final Heartbeat is a useful supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
