Urban Dressing: Pirate Town by Josh Vogt is a role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.
The supplement is available as a 13-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $3.75 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. Two pages are the front and rear covers, one the front matter and Contents, two pages are ads and one is the Open Game License. The PDF comes in two versions, one designed for print and high-end devices, the other for mobile and low-end devices.
A: Sights & Sounds has a brief paragraph on this before following with a d100 table of things to see and hear.
B: Businesses again has a brief paragraph followed by a d100 table with 50 results describing businesses. Each has a name, business type and a brief description. The businesses tend to be piratical or nautical in nature, with some others.
C: Folk of Interest again has a brief paragraph and a d100 table with 50 results. Each individual is named, given alignment, species, class, level and sex, and a brief description. These are primarily people involved with ships or maintaining and supplying them in some way.
D: Hooks, Complications & Opportunities has a brief paragraph followed by a d20 list of rumours and potential adventure hooks.
Urban Dressing: Pirate Town in Review
The PDF is bookmarked with the various sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth. Navigation is decent. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are a couple of pieces of black and white stock art. Presentation is okay.
Entries in this particular series can vary a bit with how close to the intended theme they are, and this supplement is one that does follow it well, with plenty of details for fleshing out this kind of town. Urban Dressing: Pirate Town is a good entry in the series and it can be found by clicking here.
