Urban Dressing: Dwarven Hold 2.0 (P1)

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Urban Dressing: Dwarven Hold 2.0 (P1)

Urban Dressing: Dwarven Hold 2.0 (P1) by Josh Vogt is a role playing game supplement published by Raging Swan Press for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. As such, it is covered by the Open Game License and some parts are considered to be Open Game Content as a result.

Urban Dressing: Dwarven Hold 2.0 (P1)The supplement is available as a 13-page PDF from DriveThruRPG for $3.75 but was purchased at a reduced price as part of a special bundle. Two pages are the front and rear covers, two are ads, one the front matter and Contents and one the Open Game License. The PDF comes in two versions, one intended for print and high-end devices, one intended for low-end and mobile.

Dwarven Hold: Sights & Sounds is a d100 list of things to see and hear in a dwarven settlement.

Dwarven Hold: Businesses is a d100 list with 50 results of businesses. Each is given a name, type of business and a brief description.

Dwarven Hold: Folk of Interest is a d100 list with 50 results of NPCs to encounter. Each is given a name, alignment, sex, species and level, with a brief description.

Dwarven Hold: Adventure Hooks is a d100 list with 20 results of adventure hooks.

The PDF is bookmarked with the various sections linked. The Contents is to a similar level of depth and is hyperlinked. Navigation is decent. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of errors. There are several black and white illustrations. Presentation is decent.

Like most of the other supplements in the 2.0 range of Urban Dressing, this at most changes some of the formatting but doesn’t add anything new. Anyone who has the original supplement or GM’s Miscellany: Urban Dressing II compilation will find nothing new in this. Much of the supplement is system neutral, with only the NPCs having system references; it will be easy enough to use with many other systems, especially D&D derived ones. This is worth getting if you lack either original, to flesh out a dwarven town or district. Urban Dressing: Dwarven Hold 2.0 (P1) can be found by clicking here.
