Torg Eternity - Ruins of the Living Land

A Review of the Role Playing Game Supplement Torg Eternity – Ruins of the Living Land

Torg Eternity – Ruins of the Living Land by Deanna Gilbert, Darrell Hayhurst, Shane Hensley and Ross Watson is a role playing game supplement published by Ulisses Spiele for use with Torg Eternity.

The supplement is available as a 34 page Pay What You Want PDF from DriveThruRPG. Two pages are the front and rear covers, one the front matter, one the contents, one an ad and one the Index.

Torg Eternity - Ruins of the Living LandStorm Knight Options starts with some rules on salvaging and repairing things in the Living Land, a cosm where things decay rapidly. There are then two new races, from two prior cosms conquered by Baruk Kaah. Neither is remotely common but both provide new options for PCs and NPCs. There are then new perks, for the edeinos and two new races as well as some general ones appropriate for the cosm.

The Ruins of Atlanta is the first of three sections covering ruined areas within the Living Land. Atlanta is essentially Baruk Kaah’s base and there are details on points of interest, including Wonders, a map of the area, important local groups and NPCs and Delphi Council initiatives in the area, which are essentially adventure hooks.

The Ruins of New York follows the same format, but covers New York city instead, though local groups are called gangs in this case.

The Ruins of Washington D.C. again follows this same format and again local groups goes under a different name, in this case factions.

Torg Eternity – Ruins of the Living Land in Review

The PDF is bookmarked with chapters and major subsections linked. The contents are to a similar level of depth. The Index is thorough for the size. Navigation is decent. The text maintains a two-column format and appeared to be free of error. There are a variety of colour illustrations. Presentation is good.

This is essentially a sourcebook that expands the options for the Living Land. Given that it’s Pay What You Want, it’s very good value. As well as the new Storm Knight options, there are the descriptions of three major ruined areas. They aren’t covered in detail, but there’s enough with various points of interest, NPCs and groups and adventure hooks to add a range of new options. Torg Eternity – Ruins of the Living Land is a good little supplement and it can be found by clicking here.
